Recently, the market for optical parts and lenses has seen an increase in the requirements for SMT compatibility. These needs include reflow soldering, high heat resistance, smaller and thinner design, and fine patterns.
Our proprietary molding technologies — including imprint molding combined with optimized UV-curable or heat-curable transparent materials — are providing solutions to these recent requirements related to optical parts.
In order to provide advanced solutions, we are meeting the challenge of producing optical parts that are beyond the scope of conventional injection molding.

Lens and lens units by the wafer process
We use the optimal material from our original epoxy resin and silicone resin for meeting customer requests and propose the best solution for wafer-level manufacturing through our optical design and other peripheral technologies.
The integral molding with surface decoration from Nano to micro size will be possible using Daicel's proprietary imprint molding technology. In addition, it is usable application of mounting for electronic parts, due to excellent high-heat resistance.

Imprint molding is one of processing technology that is sandwiched thermosetting resin or UV-curable Resin by mold and for transferring pattern, the surface shape engraved on the mold for imprinting is transferred to the resin without change. Daicel has core technologies including material design technology, molding process technology and two or three dimensional evaluation / analysis technology for molding products, thereby we will produce optical lenses efficiently.
