Silver nanoparticle ink / paste (Picosil™)

Daicel's conductive ink has 1/101) the electrical resistance of conventional products and can easily draw circuit patterns (20μm), which line width is thinner than a hair. Most commercial conductive inks need to heat at least 200℃ to fuse (metallize), but our ink fuses at about 100℃. Moreover, patterns drawn with it have a smoother surface2), which helps to stabilize the quality of electronics products. Daicel's conductive ink can use to draw electrodes for solar cells and backlight circuits of TVs.

  1. Electrical resistance (Based on JIS H0505): Daicel's ink 12Ω, Conventional ink Approx. 120Ω (Electrical resistance measured for a pattern 100μm width, 10cm length and 5μm thickness)
  2. Surface smoothness (Based on JIS B0651, Ra): Daicel‘s ink 0.1μm, Conventional ink 1μm or more

NEW!!

We have released a video of printing with Picosil™ ink on an uneven plastic substrate.

Picosil™ can be used to create low-resistance electrical wiring through sintering at a low temperature of 100℃ and can be printed on three-dimensional shapes.

NEW!!

The LEDs glow evenly! I drew the wiring with Picosil™ silver nanoparticle ink.
We compared the performance of Picosil™ silver ink and other commercial silver ink in terms of evenly lighting the LEDs.
Our Picosil™ silver nanoparticle ink was heat-treated to create the electrical wiring, which was then connected to the LEDs.

Electricity flows four times* more easily through wiring drawn with Picosil™ ink than through wiring drawn with other commercially available silver ink, making it possible to light the LEDs evenly.

NEW!!

Video of a transparent heater made with Picosil™ ink is now available.
Daicel's silver nanoparticle ink, Picosil™, can be used to draw electrical wiring that conducts electricity well, such that a thin wire can be used as a heating wire that heats up quickly.
Picosil™ ink can be used to create transparent heaters; for example, a vehicle heater that easily melts ice.

This heater is a prototype that is wired to a heat-sensitive plastic plate, taking advantage of the fact that Picosil™ silver nanoparticle ink becomes a high-purity silver wire that conducts electricity well when processed at low temperatures (below 120℃).
Compared with the wires of rear-window heaters of current vehicles, the wire drawn with Picosil™ ink is approximately 5 times thinner and has a heat generation efficiency that is 4 times higher*.
