Daicel Corporation (Head Office: Kita-ward, Osaka; President & CEO: Yoshimi Ogawa) has signed a sale and purchase agreement for the 100% divestment of Lomapharm GmbH (hereinafter “Lomapharm”), a German pharma contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) on March 31, 2023. Buyer is the German based manufacturers of herbal medicinal products, Bionorica SE (hereinafter “Bionorica”). Lomapharm will become a 100% subsidiary of Bionorica upon completion of the transaction.

With more than 135 years of experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing, Lomapharm, an independent mid-sized CDMO, offers development, production, packaging and release of different dosage forms to its customers such as large pharmaceutical companies, UN organizations and NGOs.

As part of the business strategy for Daicel's life sciences business in the competitive market environment caused by COVID19 and other factors, we have concluded that the best option would be transfer the shares of Lomapharm to Bionorica, which highly appreciates the Lomapharm’s technological capabilities and customer network and has a clear vision for the stable business growth by leveraging those capabilities.
