‘DAICEL Accelerator Program’ holds business plan contest for startups in Taiwan.

Osaka, Japan – DAICEL Corporation (President and CEO: Yoshimi Ogawa; Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka, Japan; hereinafter “DAICEL”) and Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) (Chairman: Dr. C.K. Lee; Headquarters: Hsinchu County, Taiwan; hereinafter “ITRI”) entered into a Virtual Accelerator Service Agreement on March 26, 2024. to support startups. According to this agreement, ‘DAICEL Accelerator Program’ (hereinafter referred to as the program), was launched to enhance the development of startups and their global ties in early 2024.

On November 20,2024, the ‘DAICEL Accelerator Program’, a startup support program, held a business plan contest at the Taiwan Tech Arena in Taipei, Taiwan.

Over 30 startups from around the world participated in the program, and 10 of them pitched in the contest. FlowVIEW Tek, an ITRI spinoff, won the Grand Prize for its AI particle detection technology, which is an AI recognition system to detect particles in a liquid and evaluate their size and shape.

The award was presented by Norimasa KONUMA (right), Group Manager of the Business Accelerator Group at DAICEL, and received on behalf of FlowVIEW Tek by Jeff Liu (left), VP of International Business Development.

On December 24,2024, an event was held at DAICEL's Tokyo headquarters to introduce FlowVIEW Tek's technology to DAICEL's R&D department with an aim of matching Proof of Concept (PoC). This is one successful example of Japan-Taiwan cooperation in supporting startups through the Program.

The program provides participating startups with access to the following resources:
Mentorship: Guidance and support from experienced industry experts and researchers from both DAICEL and ITRI.
Customers and Markets: Networking with potential customers and partners within DAICEL's global network.
Technical Expertise: Startup's cutting-edge research results and DAICEL's advanced chemical materials and production technologies.

These synergies are expected to build an innovative technology supply chain and benefit technological innovation and industry. At the same time, DAICEL is willing to expend the opportunities of collaboration with startups world-widely, intending to build a co-creation value chain beyond companies’ boundary .
