Launch of the Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP) System
DAICEL CORPORATION (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Osaka; President: Yasuhiro Sakaki) has introduced an Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP)* system within our group to achieve a carbon-neutral society.
*Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP) refers to a carbon price set and used independently within a company to promote decarbonization efforts. It is commonly used in the planning of companies aiming to achieve climate-related targets, identifying revenue opportunities and risks from decarbonization, guiding investment decisions, and preparing for rising carbon prices and carbon regulations in various countries.
The DAICEL Group has set “contributing to the creation of a circular society” as a goal in its Long-Term Vision "DAICEL VISION 4.0," and is working towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. We have set a Medium- and Long-Term target of a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2030 compared to FY2019/3. We are committed to reducing GHG emissions through the three angles "current production processes," "innovative technology," and "energy supply". It strives to construct a circular process that is in harmony with the global environment.
Overview of DAICEL Group’s ICP System - ICP: 10,000 yen/ton-CO2eq - Application Method: Use the change in GHG emissions converted to costs through the application of ICP as one of the decision-making indicators. |
Going forward, our group will continue to contribute to the achievement of a sustainable global environment, including carbon neutrality, while balancing ecology and economy, by reducing the environmental impact throughout the value chain in response to climate change.
